The

Dottie Bones

Method

An osteoporosis or osteopenia diagnosis can leave you feeling stunned and fragile, but it doesn’t have to define what comes next. The Dottie Bones Method helps you turn your diagnosis into a path toward stronger bones and a healthier you.

You've probably been told...

And somewhere along the way, you found yourself constantly worrying about your bones, searching for answers, finding conflicting opinions, and feeling more defeated than when you started.

Sound familiar? Then this program might be for you.

What's really going on inside of your bones?

Your bones are influenced by far more than just calcium and vitamin D. What you eat, how your body absorbs nutrients, blood sugar, gut health, hormones, inflammation, exercise, stress and sleep all play a role in bone health.

This program is for you if:

→ You’ve been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia and want to take an active role in your bone health

→ You’re overwhelmed by conflicting information about nutrition and supplements

→ You don’t fully understand your bone density scans or lab results

→ You want to identify and address the underlying factors contributing to your bone loss

→ You’re ready to make sustainable changes to your diet

→ You’re worried about your long-term health and independence

Approximately one in two women over 50 will break a bone because of osteoporosis.

Yet most women receive little to no nutrition or lifestyle guidance after a diagnosis of osteoporosis. A prescription is written, and they’re sent home without a clear picture of all of the things they could be doing to strengthen their bones and prevent fractures.

Introducing...

The Dottie Bones Method

The Dottie bones method is built in five phases, each one designed to move you from confusion to clarity and from knowing to doing.

Phase 1: Your Diagnosis, Decoded: From confused to informed. You’ll learn how to understand your diagnosis, labs, and DEXA scans, and begin to identify what may be contributing to your bone loss. You stop fearing the numbers and start using them.
Phase 2: Nourish Your Bones: Build your nutrition foundation. You’ll learn how to build a plate with anti-inflammatory foods and balanced macros for bone rebuilding and optimal health.
Phase 3: Close the Gaps: From nutrition confusion to a personalized strategy. Minerals, oxalates, the alkaline diet debate, and your supplement stack. Learn how to support the micronutrients needed for strong bones.
Phase 4: Move With Intention: Bones respond to load. You’ll learn which types of movement build bone density, how to exercise safely with osteoporosis, and find a plan that works for you.
Phase 5: Rest and Restore: From depleted to resilient. Your gut has to absorb the nutrients your bones need. Your stress hormones affect bone turnover. Your sleep is when repair happens. This phase addresses the three pillars that make everything else work optimally.
Bonus Content: Digging deeper. Learn about Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for bones, osteoporosis medications, and more.

What Changes When You Understand Your Bones

→ You stop dreading your DEXA scan, and instead look forward to seeing progress you’ve made.

→ You know what to eat and why, based on your own labs and your own needs, not from advice on social media.

→ You walk into your doctor’s appointments knowing where you stand. You know what questions to ask, and you understand the answers.

→ You let go of the constant fear of falling or breaking a bone.

→ You stop wondering if you’re doing enough, because you finally have a plan you trust.

What's Included:

How It Works

  1. Complete your lab draw – We order your bone-focused panel and send a PDF review that explains out-of-range markers, along with suboptimal markers or patterns we observe that may not be flagged by standard lab reference ranges, giving you more to build on.
  2. Share your health history – Fill out the health questionnaire form so our dietitians can individualize your lab review and make suggestions specific to  you and your life.
  3. Build your plan – Spend approximately 20-30 minutes weekly on the program modules. Identify small action steps you can build upon each week to strengthen your bones and improve your health.
  4. Retest when you’re ready – Order à la carte labs inside of the program to track your progress or adjust your plan.

The DB Lab Panel

This panel includes markers most standard lab panels miss, giving you better insights into your bone health.

Meet Amy and Tracy: Bone Health Dietitians

Dottie Bones started with a diagnosis.

When Tracy was diagnosed with osteoporosis, her first thought was of her mother, who had lived with the disease and suffered terribly at the end of her life. Tracy was terrified of going through what her mom went through, and of her children having to witness it the way she did.

Between us, we have more than 40 years of experience helping clients improve their health, so we did what we’ve always done. We dug in, asked questions, and refused to accept settle for generic advice or medication as the only option. We wanted to understand why Tracy was losing bone despite a healthy, active lifestyle, and we found a way to reverse it.

Along the way, we learned that bone health advice is confusing, fragmented, and rarely individualized or focused on the root cause. What began as Tracy’s effort to understand her own bone loss revealed a real gap in women’s healthcare. We started Dottie Bones to provide the support women with bone loss have been missing.

Common Questions

Why should I do this course instead of just following what my doctor tells me?

This program isn’t a replacement for your doctor. It’s what happens *between* appointments. Most doctors have 10–15 minutes (or less!) with you and default to “take calcium and vitamin D” because that’s the standard, fastest guidance. We go deeper: your labs, your diet, your gut, your hormones, your stress…all the pieces that actually influence bone density but rarely get discussed. You’ll walk into your next appointment more informed and better equipped to discuss your health.

No, this course is appropriate for those with osteoporosis, osteopenia, or those who want to be proactive about their bone health.

This course was designed for women, but men are welcome to join!

We’ll cover general education on medications so that you can have more informed discussions with your doctor regarding your options, but we are not licensed medical doctors and cannot tell you whether you should or should not be on a medication. This course is for educational purposes only and doesn’t replace the care of your own doctor.

No, but we’ve got you covered.  We’ll review the evidence behind the best exercise modalities for osteoporosis, as well as our favorite resources and programs to help you find the best option for where you’re at.

To keep the program accessible and affordable, we’ve built the program around self-paced lessons, however you’re not left to figure it out all on your own. You will have the ability to send over your questions directly to Amy & Tracy for weekly support.

You will be able to send over questions directly to Amy and Tracy as you move through the course content via chat for 6 months. We aim to respond to all messages on a weekly basis so that you are not left waiting for answers.

Modules are released on a rolling basis. Expect about 20 to 30 minutes a week, with core video lessons finishing around month 4 to 5.

You’ll have access to the self-paced course content for the life of the program in its current self-paced format, or for a minimum of 12 months, whichever is longer. If we discontinue the program or remove access for any reason after the 12-month mark, we’ll give you advance notice.

This course is intended to give you the knowledge and tools to take an active role in your bone health, through a better understanding of your own labs, nutrition, and lifestyle.

Everyone’s starting point is different; genetics, medical history, and other health factors all play a role in bone health outcomes. We make no guarantee of results, and individual outcomes will vary.

We are unable to order labs in these states or internationally. We recommend purchasing the “education only” version of the course and requesting labs mentioned above from your doctor.

Totally fine! You can purchase the “education only” option of the course.

We recommend talking with your doctor to see if they are able or willing to order more in-depth labs for you. Please note that we will not be providing lab reviews for the “education only” version of this course.

Great question. Hormones play a huge role in bone health, but most of our customers are peri- or post-menopausal and already working with an HRT prescriber who’s monitoring their hormone levels, or interested in working with one in the not so far off future. We don’t want you paying for duplicate labs. If there’s enough interest in an add-on hormone panel in the future, we’ll make it happen.

Nope! The lab draw fee is included in your purchase with Dottie Bones.

No. While we hope you enjoy our program enough that you want to share, we pour our heart and soul into this work, and it is our livelihood. We reserve the right to remove login access if our policy is violated.

Only the name on the account is able to participate in discussion and have labs ordered in their name. We value your business and appreciate your understanding.

This program may not be a good fit for those with serious medical conditions or contraindications with nutrition intake and supplements, such as, but not limited to:

    • Certain medical diagnoses – kidney disease (CKD, ESRD, or dialysis), liver disease or cirrhosis, gout, active cancer, urea cycle disorders (including PKU), suppressed immune system (e.g., post-organ transplant)
    • A strict vegan or plant-based diet – our nutrition philosophy includes the incorporation of animal products. However, we do offer alternatives to those that are dairy free.
    • Significant food allergies, a highly limited diet, or eating disorders requiring a deeper level of support or customization
    • Those hoping to lose weight – while some people may see an improvement in their body composition as a side effect of supporting their bones and improving their metabolic health, this is not a weight loss program.

If you are unsure, please consult with your doctor before making any changes. You can contact us at hello@dottiebonehealth.com if you have additional questions.

The process of bone healing and remodeling can cause two of the markers we test to be elevated (P1NP and CTX). We recommend waiting 6-12 months after a fracture for the most accurate results.

If you would like to complete your labs without these markers due to a recent fracture, please email us hello@dottiebonehealth.com to discuss your options.

Due to the instant access to course content and the lab costs we incur on your behalf, all sales are final once you enroll. If you have any questions before purchasing, email us at hello@dottiebonehealth.com. We want you to feel confident when you join and we’re happy to help you figure out if this is the right fit first.

Stronger bones start with understanding what's actually driving bone loss.
